Jesus Christ Paid My Debt

Jesus Christ Paid My Debt

My name is Abigail Wilhite, and this is my story.

My dad was a pastor of a church in Alabama, and every Sunday, I went to church with my mom and seven older siblings.

I grew up in a wonderful Christian home, but I was not going to heaven.

I believed in God, but I was not going to heaven.

I went to church, but I was not going to heaven.

My dad was a pastor, but I was not going to heaven.

Every single human has sin in their life, and this sin separates them from God. The Bible says, “For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)

God is perfect. His standard is perfection.

"God is perfect. His standard is perfection."

Are you perfect? I am not perfect.

I have lied. I have been proud. I have hated. I have stolen. I have disobeyed.

The Bible says, “These six things doth the Lord hate…a proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood… ” (Proverbs 6:1) God hates murder. God hates lying. God hates pride. All sin is equal in God’s eyes, and He must punish all sin equally.

While God is just in his punishment, He is also quick to love.

God knew that Abigail Wilhite was going to be born in 1998 a sinner.

Somebody needed to take the punishment for Abigail’s sin. This Somebody had to be perfect with no sin. Who would pay the price for Abigail’s sin?

Jesus Christ.

The Bible says, “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the spirit.” (1 Peter 3:18)

Jesus Christ died on a cross for me! He paid my debt! His payment has opened a way to heaven AND has opened a relationship with GOD. Three days later, Jesus arose from the grave! Jesus Christ is still living today. Jesus’ payment on the cross is a gift for me…and you.

"God has done all the work for this gift."

The gift is free for us. God has done all the work for this gift. This gift is waiting for you.

Every individual makes a decision to either accept this gift and follow Christ OR to refuse this gift and follow sin.

explained to me the difference between believing in God and following God. Satan believes in God, but he does not follow God. Many people believe in God, but they do not follow God. God has asked us to believe AND follow Him (Galatians 2:20).

On a Sunday evening in 2004, I made the decision to turn from my sin, to accept the gift of eternal life, and to follow God. Through God’s goodness, I am going to spend eternity in heaven!

I made the decision to reject my sin and follow God.

What have you decided?
