My name is Corey Petroske, and this is my story. I was raised attending a United Church of Christ/Lutheran church, whose membership mostly consisted of middle-aged to senior-citizen Pennsylvania Dutch members. There were some other young kids, but they didn’t stay very long. So, obviously, I didn’t feel like I fit in.
My name is Benjamin Hall, and this is my story. I was brought up in a Christian home and have gone to church ever since I was a little baby. When I was 10 years old, my Pastor played a video called “The Appointment” during the church service. It was about a lady who had put off being saved and unexpectedly died and went to hell.
As a young girl, I attended several different churches off and on. One summer when I was eight years old, I attended a neighborhood Bible club with my girlfriend. The teacher pressured us into praying a prayer, but I really did not understand at that time what it meant to be saved or to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
I was sixteen years old at the time. Just a typical teen girl who went to church—trying to be good, but also trying to fit in with the fun kids and be cool. I knew God had a perfect plan for my life if I would submit to Him, yet I still chose to do it my way and hope things turned out OK in the end. It was tough sometimes balancing these two—but mostly I thought that I had it all under control.
My name is Jackie Wolf, and this is my story. I was raised in the Zion Lutheran Church in Sunbury, PA. My dad worked most Sundays, but it was a ritual for my mom and me to attend every week. I wasn’t too excited about church because I had no friends there. There was no fellowshipping, the singing was morbid, we never took our Bibles, and the sermons were just reading and repeating after the pastor from a Lutheran book.
In September 28, 1994, something wonderful happened in my life. I was 13 years old when I invited the Lord into my heart to stay. He has changed my life completely, and I know it will never be the same. I would like to share with you what He has done for me and what He can do for you. My name is Kristin Hammett, and this is my story.
