My name is Nina Gaus, and this is my story. My parents grew up in the Catholic religion. For years, they followed the traditions they were taught, but received little practical instruction from the Bible. They felt like they had no clue what life was all about.
My name is Benjamin Hall, and this is my story. I was brought up in a Christian home and have gone to church ever since I was a little baby. When I was 10 years old, my Pastor played a video called “The Appointment” during the church service. It was about a lady who had put off being saved and unexpectedly died and went to hell.
Being born to Baptist parents, raised in a Baptist church, attending a Baptist school, and running with a Baptist circle of friends, left quite a Baptist impression on my life. An old saying says, “Familiarity breeds contempt.” I am thankful that this was not the case with me. I loved my Baptist community and was very blessed to be placed in my Baptist family.
When I was five years old, my father and mother began attending a Baptist Church. I was raised going to Sunday School classes and church every Sunday. I attended a Christian School. My circle of friends were mostly Christians or in Christian families. The church I attended was Solid Rock Baptist Church in Atco, New Jersey. Our pastor preached and taught only from the Bible. I was taught the Bible is the Word of God.
I was sixteen years old at the time. Just a typical teen girl who went to church—trying to be good, but also trying to fit in with the fun kids and be cool. I knew God had a perfect plan for my life if I would submit to Him, yet I still chose to do it my way and hope things turned out OK in the end. It was tough sometimes balancing these two—but mostly I thought that I had it all under control.
In September 28, 1994, something wonderful happened in my life. I was 13 years old when I invited the Lord into my heart to stay. He has changed my life completely, and I know it will never be the same. I would like to share with you what He has done for me and what He can do for you. My name is Kristin Hammett, and this is my story.
I grew up in church and also attended Christian schools. Therefore I knew the Bible and what it had to say. I partially remember an experience when I was six years old when I prayed a prayer for salvation. For many years, I based my salvation on that experience and the partial memory of a six year old mind.
